Position Summary: We are looking to employ a Bilingual (Spanish) HR generalist with outstanding analytical and communication skills. An HR generalist is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and conflict management skills. You will have excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. To ensure success, HR generalists should exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and training. Top candidates will be comfortable managing grey areas, effective at scheduling and methodical in the recruitment process.
What you’ll do:
- Process injury claims with Worker’s Compensation vendor.
- Review, process and file disciplinary actions, PTO forms, return to duty, new hire requisitions.
- Assist in dealing with Employee Relations.
- Up-keep the HR Bulletin boards.
- Maintain I-9 folders and assist with Employment Reverification.
- Obtain requisitions with appropriate signatures and file them with Corporate.
- Work with Corporate on posting new vacancies.
- Evaluate resumes for designated position.
- Phone screen candidates and build summary sheets.
- Coordinate with Manager and schedule interviews.
- Background checking, chain of custody, and all pre-employment process.
- Send offer letters, rejection letters and new hire packages including lab referrals for urinalysis.
- Complete background checks and review results.
- Building personnel folders for new hires, collecting and tracking all components of new hire application.
- Lead the new hire orientation process for all front line workers.
- Keying in all demographics of new hires in HRIS.
- Up-keeping the Payroll Master File Changes Directory.
- Terminating employees in payroll system.
- Monitoring time keeping and assigning badge numbers to new hires and temp workers.
- Document, file and adjust system when an employee is on an approved leave and when employee returns back to duty.
- Assist with updating HRIS systems.
- Upkeep I9 and personnel folders and ensure compliance with all applicable state requirements.
- Update w4 and state tax withholdings.
- Maintaining time and attendance records.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- 5 years minimum experience as Human Resources Generalist or equivalent.
- Strong communicator with verifiable bilingual English/Spanish skills required.
- Experience within food industry strongly preferred.
- An organized worker with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and internet use.
- Must live in nearby area with reliable form of transportation.
- Must have a flexible schedule and working hours.
